Home Evenings

Home Evenings were first instituted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1915 by President Joseph F. Smith. In 1970, President Joseph Fielding Smith and his counselors in the First Presidency designated Monday evenings for home evenings. The purpose of home evenings is to teach gospel principles and build unity.

Here at BYU–Hawaii, we encourage all our students to attend regular home evenings in their homes or with their ward home evening groups. Most classes and student activities end at 7:00 pm on Mondays to give priority for these activities to wards of the Laie Young Single Adult 1st, 2nd, and Married Student stakes. ***The CAC is no longer an option for FHE***
